While we have numerous boats in our fleet, our primary vessel is the famous Chutine Warrior. Not only is it nimble and quick for its size, but it is also the only jet boat in the city of Wrangell with an on-board bathroom; all other boats require their guests to wait until they return to land. As an Alaska Native Business we require our guide leaders to be from the surrounding area. This ensures a thorough experience for each guest that is as culturally and historically compelling as it is visually stunning. And you’ll be safe, too! Our boat operators are licensed and certified by the US Coast Guard. Additionally, all captains have first aid experience while some hold higher medical certifications. Whether you’re lake fishing in Alaska or hiking on a trail, your safety is always on our mind.
Your guide Scott McAuliffe specializes in fly-fishing, but he can also assist spin fishermen. Our Alaska fly fishing trips include complimentary beverages, rods and custom Alaskan hand-tied flies. It is our goal to preserve our natural resources. As such this Alaskan adventure is exclusively catch-and-release and we utilize barbless hooks.
We recommend that guests come prepared with their own hip-waders and acquire an Alaska State Fishing License in advance. However, Alaska Waters has hip-waders available for guests and can assist in acquiring an Alaska State Fishing License. You can purchase your fishing license online at: www.adfg.alaska.gov. It’s important to note that you will not need a “King Salmon Stamp” for any of our Alaska fly fishing trips.
