We had a wonderful Island Heritage Discovery tour with Alaska Waters. It was very informative as we got the history, the challenges, and current events of the Tlingit nation. Vydell was a fantastic tour guide. She is very knowledgeable about past and current issues. She is articulate and conversational with an interesting life story. Do not miss this tour if you are in Wrangell.
– marklinder46, May 2024I can see why the guides are so upbeat — just being around AnAn is uplifting. The owner LOVES bears — he relates to them from great childhood experiences. I feel so privileged to be able to spend the day there.
– Google Reviews, Larry Pat B.We did both the AnAn creek bear tour and the glacier tour with this team and they did a great job on both trips. Very professional and safety conscious. The staff are well trained. Highly recommended to all ages.
– Google Reviews Arnold M.The boat ride is an hour each way. The scenery is beautiful. Saw a lot of bears. The staff was very friendly. Would recommend.
– Tripadvisor, JBThe guides are all business when it counts, otherwise nice, friendly, engaging and intent on us having a good time. Worth the money, since just the hour boat excursion would cost that much. And we saw bears for two + hours to boot!
– Tripadvisor, Connector801247Very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We had a 1 Hr boat ride to Anan Wilderness preserve and plenty of time with the bears. There’s a water’s edge photo blind with timed 15 minute sessions, and lots of good viewing from the upper deck.
