We had a wonderful Island Heritage Discovery tour with Alaska Waters. It was very informative as we got the history, the challenges, and current events of the Tlingit nation. Vydell was a fantastic tour guide. She is very knowledgeable about past and current issues. She is articulate and conversational with an interesting life story. Do not miss this tour if you are in Wrangell.

We had an Island Heritage of Tlingit tour today hosted by Vydell. It was without question the most informative and passionate tour that I have ever been on. She is amazingly knowledgeable and provides a unique and personal perspective.

Most amazing experience to see bears in the wild feeding on salmon. And thanks to our guide who faced down two large black bears on the trail to the lookout. That was a bit harrowing. It felt very safe with our two great guides.

There are too many favorites but seeing harbor seals and their pups on the ice flows near LeConte Glacier was tops. The smooth, fast boat ride was enjoyable. Thunder falls is spectacular and the crew are very knowledgeable about sea life, birds, island history etc. We highly recommend this company.

The bears viewing is incredible and there are not enough adjectives to describe it. There are serval companies you can book but we felt very lucky to be with Alaska Waters. Everything about our trip was first rate. The Alaska Waters storefront and communication before the trip were helpful and informative. The guides (James and Tom) were knowledgeable and friendly. The boat we rode on appeared to be brand new. All in all a 5 star day!
